THE HEALING POWER OF SOUND
Resources for Learning and Practice
SOUND AND MUSIC EXIST ON A CONTINUUM
Both sound and music consist of sound waves which vibrate at different frequencies. We receive these frequencies not just with our ears, but through our bodies as well. Just as listening to a piece of music or humming a tune can instantly change our mood, so too can vocalizing single vowel sounds as we exhale - something called toning - immediately shift our body and mind to a more harmonious state of being.

SERVICES AND RESOURCES
The best way to learn more about the healing power of sound is to experience it yourself. If you live in the vicinity of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, you can visit The Dorian Centre for the Healing Arts, which Dr. Snow founded in 2011, and join a healing power of sound group or experience a series of 1:1 sessions. If you are interested in the research being done on voice-centered sound therapy and sound healing, or in participating in a training, these resources are also available. See below for more details on all of the above.
“There's no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound, music and vibration. You can look at disease as a form of disharmony.”
– Mitchell Gaynor
